Hearts and Dreams

During my formative impressionable years whilst in my early twentys i was reading a poem that was so powerfull to me it remained in my thoughts to this day.
The opening line of this well known piece was

“Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths”

The last line of the poem is what inspired the painting, I just imagined the lovers as they walked into their future thinking about each other saying

“tread softly because you tread on my dreams”
